I am SO into bird designs right now. I can't get enough of them! This Baby Bird Blanket project really caught my eye this week! Karen Elaine Thomas is an artist and designer. As Creative Director for Yasutomo, an art and craft supply manufacturer, her position is a perfect fit for her. Her passion for paper folding started when she was a child with a gum wrapper chain and she has been folding ever since. Karen talks about her new book, Origami Card Craft: 30 Clever Cards and Envelopes to Fold. The projects featured in this book include origami-inspired cards, boxes, and envelopes that pop up, fan out, and even hold hidden messages. Karen has been a regular guest on HGTV's Carol Duvall Show, the DIY Network and crafttvweekly.com.

Our product pick this week is Undu. You can use Undu to remove tape from a photo, a bumper sticker, from a car price labels, kids' stickers, office labels, computer disk labels, windshield stickers, gum from fabric and more. The acid free, environmentally friendly solution temporarily neutralizes adhesives and then quickly evaporates allowing the stickers tape and labels to be used again. This week's Herban Living feature is Garlic! What can I say about garlic except that it's a staple in our family. The joke in my family is that my husband loves garlic so much that he could eat it on his cereal! There are so many times when I don't have time to pick up the phone to say "hello - what are you up to?" but I can check in to my Facebook account and read the updates. Our challenge from Green Doreen Liccione this week is to Unplug it! Did you know that 75% of electricity used to power home electronics is consumed while the products are turned OFF. This is called phantom power. Unplug appliances when not in use or even better, use a power strip and turn off multiple appliances at one time. The biggest impact is made from unplugging your TV and computer!
