Mark Montano was a fashion designer in New York City for most of his life and through a series of terrific opportunities became a writer and editor for Cosmo Girl! Magazine. He wrote a column called Cool Room which he turned into a book called Super Suite: The Ultimate Bedroom Makeover Guide for Girls. From that book he was offered a designer role on the TLC network show called WHILE YOU WERE OUT. After several years designing on While You Were Out he moved over to hosting 10 YEARS YOUNGER on TLC. That's the one where people are put into a glass box and others guess their age. After that a few other shows came along - MY CELEBRITY HOME on Style and SHE'S

Laura Scott has enjoyed an exciting career with DRG since 1991. In 2000, Laura took the lead in the Creative Girls Club, a craft kit club geared to girls between 7-12 years old and then launched the Creative Woman Kit-of-the-Month Club, a general craft kit club for women who enjoy learning and dabbling in many different crafts. Laura is now product development director of DRG's club division, leading a team of six product managers who produce nine different kit-of-the-month clubs. Nutmeg is a wonderful aromatic spice. The nutmeg tree, which can grow up to 60 feet tall, is native to the Molucca Islands in the South Pacific. The tree produces a peach shaped fruit known as the nutmeg apple which is discarded for the seed inside. The fruit splits when ripe to expose a pecan sized nut wrapped in a bright red netting. The netting which is yellow in color when dried is called mace. Mace is used in Indian and Asian cuisine and is also used in baked goods. Mace is milder in flavor than nutmeg. Nutmeg is used for seasoning vegetables, white sauces, pasta fillings and meat dishes. Of course, we are most familiar with nutmeg because it is the wonderful flavor in pumpkin pie and eggnog. Nutmeg loses its flavor quickly when powdered so it is best to use the whole nutmeg and grate with a nutmeg grater.

Medicinally, nutmeg is good for the cardiovascular system, promotes concentration, reduces joint inflammation, is good for diarrhea and upset stomach. Be aware that nutmeg is toxic in large doses so don't use more than 2 tablespoons of grated nutmeg or 10 drops of essential oil a day. Also nutmeg and nutmeg essential oil has other cautions so be sure to check out the cautions before using.

Nutmeg essential oil is used for digestion, bloat, dyspepsia, sea sickness and muscle pains. It is a stimulant and is also good for nervous and intellectual fatigue. This oil can also produce colorful and intense dreams.

My pick for the final few this week is from www.countryliving.com I LOVE this Bookcover Purse! When I go to garage sales to buy books for my collage work, so far I've only used the pages in the books for my collage. I'm left with the book covers just setting on the shelf waiting to be upcycled. Here is the perfect project to put those bookcovers to good use! >>Heidi

My pick this week is the book The Force Is with You: Mystical Movie Messages That Inspire Our Lives by Stephen Simon. Stephen is a film producer who explores spiritual cinema. This book covers over 70 movies and shares insights on the spiritual messages in each movie. This is a fascinating read! >>Candace
