My project pick this week is from
www.inspiremecrafts.com. If you have been saving all
those small tins, here is a great project - an
Advent Calendar. Although this design is made from
circle tins from the dollar store, I'm thinking it would be
cool to make it from mint tins too! Love it! >>Heidi |

(Hey! That's us!) The
Embossed Beach Scenes by my sister
Heidi Borchers captures your summer beach memories with the
technique of glue embossing on art canvases. Add paint,
scrapbook embellishments and your own beach treasures and
you have a beachy keepsake. >>Candace

Our
feature interview this week is with the woman who started it
all in the craft industry - Aleene Jackson.
Before there was ever an inkling of Michaels Arts and Crafts
stores, or before Wal-Mart, K-Mart or Ben Franklin stores
knew that there was a difference between hobbies and crafts,
Aleene Jackson was laying the foundation for what is today
known as the $31 billion dollar craft industry. In 1967,
Aleene launched the Aleene's Craftmakers Caravan which was
the pivitol point in the birth of the craft industry. Check

McKie demonstrates
It is pollen collected by the bees. It takes at least 50 trips
worth of pollen to bring 1 gram of pollen back to the hive.
Bee keepers actually place scrapers in the hive entrance to
remove pollen from the bees on their entrance back into the
hive. Bee pollen is used medicinally for energy, stress
relief, as a general body tonic, to enhance your immune
system and for physical and mental performance. Because it
is rich in protein, vitamins and minerals, bee pollen
stimulates the metabolism and promotes healthy growth. Bees
give us other products such as royal jelly which is food
