Embracing Your Authentic Style “One of the
reasons many of us have trouble
getting our work out in the world
is that unconsciously we’re competing
instead of creating,
which always short circuits
the flow of inspiration.” The amount of talent and wonderful
artists and ideas out there can be overwhelming.
It is too easy to focus on all that is going on
around us and feel like there is nothing left for us to
offer. But
happily, that is not the case! Focusing inward on what
lights us up and gives us joy is the key to finding and
following our authentic style Judy
Once you find your authentic path and begin to follow it, all the other pieces fall into place. Follow your heart and doors will open for you. Trust that following your passion will get you on the track designed and created especially for you. How wonderful that your highest, most inspired vision of your life and your authentic life are the same! Whatever it is that, brings you joy, sends you soaring, fulfills your yearning, sparks your passion in other words your bliss is also your authentic path. “God has lots of movie ideas, novel ideas, poems, songs, paintings, acting jobs” Julia Cameron reassures us. By listening to the creator within we are led to our right path. Once you accept an artistic assignment from the great creator, it’s yours. Nobody can take it away from you unless of course you relinquish it. Nobody can duplicate your work because there’s no one in the world like you. “They can imitate but they can’t
duplicate. Your work is born of your sensibilities,
temperament, experience, emotion, passion, perseverance, and
attention to detail, idiosyncrasies and eccentricities.
When you are authentic, so is your art”. (Another wise
gem from Sarah Ban Breathnach Embracing our authentic style is all
about getting to know the most important person in your life
and honoring and expressing what she loves and who she truly
is…You! “I have learned this at least by my
experiment; that if one advances confidently in the
direction of her dreams and endeavors to live the life which
she has imagined she will meet with a success unexpected in
common hour.” ~Thoreau
