The barbs on the felting needle are agitating the wool fibers causing them to bond to each other. The wispy nature of the wool becomes solid. 3. Example: You want to make a small round hand-felted pendant. Grab tufts of roving and roll a small ball. Place ball onto foam and flatten. Begin to punch your felting needle randomly into the flat circle. Flip once the flat circle begins to become more solid. Repeat needle felting, keep flipping that round pendant until you are happy with its shape and feel. If there are some fuzzies and you want a neater look, just use scissors to trim away the fuzzies. |
