We're not sure how it all started but many, many years ago, the most
popular segment on Aleene's Creative Living television show was
Challenge Heidi.
For those of you who watched the show, we're sure you remember well
the photos of pallets of boxes of mail that were filled with trash
that viewers sent to Heidi.
Yes, you are reading this correctly, our viewers sent their trash to
Heidi. But it was all in good, creative fun! Long before recycling
and upcycling became fashionable, Heidi was taking on the Aleene's
viewer challenges and crafting from the stuff you would normally
throw away. Bread tags, adding machine tape rolls, paper napkins,
bottle lids, dryer sheets, plastic bottles. You know what we're
talking about!
We think that it's time to bring back Challenge Heidi! Only this
time, it's a little different! We don't want you to send us your
trash (we learned our lesson the last time around). . . . just take
a few moments to think about some of the stuff that you put into
recycling and then send us an
email
to tell us your Challenge Heidi challenge! It's most
likely that Heidi already has that particular "ready-to-recycle"
item in her studio so we'll just tell her what to pull out and craft
with!
