Aleene Jackson Craft Museum

Frank Murrin "Pappy" Jackson
As we mentioned, the Aleene's business was a family affair. Frank Murrin "Pappy" Jackson was certainly instrumental in the early days of the Aleene's business.  This 1952 photo shows him in the Aleene's wholesale department.

Did you know that Pappy Jackson is the designer of the original equipment which made Styrofoam® shapes such as balls, cones and wreaths?  Before that time, large blocks of Styrofoam were used for flotation in boat docks and small blocks in fresh flower arrangements. Thanks to Pappy we now all have Styrofoam balls to craft with!

Pappy was adored by everyone who met him.
